Sludge Thickening
Concentrating Sludge to Reduce Volume
Inclined plate settlers thicken dilute sludge streams, increasing solids concentration and cutting downstream dewatering and disposal costs.
Sludge Thickening
Thickening concentrates dilute sludge to reduce its volume before dewatering or disposal. Even modest increases in solids concentration sharply reduce the volume that must be handled, transported, and treated.
Plate settlers can serve as gravity thickeners, using the enhanced settling area to concentrate solids in the underflow while returning clarified liquid overhead. Polymer conditioning further improves the achievable underflow concentration.
Compact plate-settler thickening is particularly valuable where space is limited or where a dedicated conventional thickener would be uneconomic.
Key Benefits
Volume Reduction
Higher solids concentration cuts downstream handling volume.
Compact Thickener
Achieves thickening in a fraction of conventional footprint.
Lower Costs
Reduces dewatering, transport, and disposal expense.
