Suspended Solids Removal
High-Efficiency TSS Removal with Plate Settlers
Plate settlers are one of the most effective technologies for total suspended solids (TSS) removal from water and wastewater, consistently achieving effluent TSS below 10–20 mg/L.
Suspended Solids Removal
Total suspended solids (TSS) removal is the primary function of plate settler and lamella clarifier systems. The inclined plate configuration dramatically increases the effective settling area, enabling the removal of fine suspended particles that would require much larger conventional clarifiers.
When combined with upstream coagulation and flocculation, plate settlers routinely achieve TSS removal efficiencies exceeding 95%, with effluent quality below 10 mg/L. This makes them ideal for applications with stringent discharge requirements or as pretreatment ahead of filtration or membrane systems.
R+F plate settler systems are designed for reliable TSS removal across a wide range of applications — from municipal primary clarification to industrial process water treatment, construction dewatering, and mining wastewater.
