Lamella plates need periodic cleaning to keep their smooth, self-cleaning surface. The close spacing makes method and access especially important.

Because lamella plates sit close together, deposits bridge the gap quickly if cleaning is neglected. Regular, lighter cleaning is more effective than infrequent deep cleans.

Match the agent to the deposit — alkaline for organic biofilm, acid for mineral scale — and use pressure appropriate to the plate material to avoid damage.

Smooth stainless plates release deposits more readily and tolerate a wider range of cleaning chemistries than plastic alternatives.

Procedure

Assess Deposit

Identify whether the deposit is sludge, biofilm or scale.

Select Method

Choose water, alkaline or acid cleaning accordingly.

Clean the Pack

Apply at appropriate pressure across all plates.

Rinse & Neutralise

Rinse fully; neutralise chemical residues.

Verify Flow

Confirm even flow through the cleaned pack.
