Coagulation & Sedimentation
Coagulation and sedimentation form the backbone of most water and wastewater clarification processes. Chemical coagulants destabilize colloidal particles, flocculation aggregates them into settleable floc, and sedimentation removes them by gravity.
Plate settlers dramatically enhance the sedimentation step by providing up to 10x more effective settling area than conventional basins. This allows the entire coagulation-sedimentation process to be conducted in a significantly smaller footprint, with faster hydraulic retention times and higher throughput.
