The Challenge
The wastewater had unusual settling characteristics, and the operator was not confident that design assumptions from the literature would hold at full scale.
Before committing capital, they wanted site-specific data on achievable surface loading rate, coagulant demand and effluent quality.
The R+F Solution
R+F supplied a PSP pilot plate settler for an on-site trial. Running on the real wastewater, it established the achievable surface loading rate, optimal coagulant/flocculant dose and expected effluent quality.
The pilot data fed directly into the full-scale design, de-risking the investment and right-sizing the permanent unit.
